Ceramics
I've fixed a range of ceramic objects from ancient Parthian pots to Andean herdsman whistles. Ceramics often respond very well to repairs although may not always be able to return to their original use. The more parts that can be collected after a break, the better the repair.
Models, Toys and Dollshouses
As a model maker, I have both made and repaired a wide range of of models including wooden model ships - something of a speciality - and many others including:
Live Steam and electric trains
R/C submarines/submersibles
Vintage model cars
Dollshouses
Dolls
Diecast toys
Woodwork and furniture
I can repair broken furniture - if the original parts are all there - and restore some finishes like French polish. I can also repair limited damage to veneer and marquetry and in most cases remove water marks and stains.

Where needed, I can also solder brass and tin plate and make or simple simple brass fittings.
Optics and instruments
I have successfully repaired telescopes, sextants, compasses and a range of other instruments to full working condition. Some of these have gone on to collectors and one to a museum.
Where needed, I will research online to find original repair manuals or review the techniques successfully used by other repairers.

For processes like re-mirroring or the replacement of lenses, I will commission the work from specialist suppliers.
Clocks
Most older clocks that stop do so because their spring has been fouled by old oil residue. This is generally the case with clocks whose owners describe them as 'over wound'. If I can get at the spring, I can clean it and re-lubricate. This is usually enough.
I can also give the mechanism an ultrasonic clean if its small enough to fit the unit I have.
Other projects
I will happily loook at any other projects such as:
Broken glassware
Jewellry
Smaller metalwork repairs

While I can't guarentee I'll take the project on if it is too far outside my skill set I will always examine the object and make any suggestions I can.
